Confessions of a Mobile Bar Owner
Quitting my 9-5 desk job to start my own mobile bar company was one of the scariest decisions I've ever been SO thrilled to make. My folks always told me "you know it's your true passion when you're just as terrified as you are excited."
Some days are easier than others. Some days I'm on top of the world with confidence and joy and other days are full of second guesses. I'll tell you what I do know for sure...I absolutely, unapologetically LOVE what I do! I learn something new everyday (did you know I'd never tapped a keg or driven a vintage 2 stroke engine before I started this business)? I make new friends constantly and belly laugh while "working" on the regular (if I can even call it work). To me, that beats the certainty of a steady paycheck any day!
If I could offer one piece of advice in regards to vocation it would be this: FEEL the fear and DO IT anyway. Take the risk, quit the job you hate, get out from behind the desk and get outside! Trust that your heart is leading you in the right direction and all will unfold exactly the way it's supposed to. Pursue the dream "job" you've always wanted and life will provide you with abundance. When you no longer consider what you do to make money your "job" but instead that which truly brings you joy, is when you know you're on the path to fulfillment.
Cheers to all the courageous entrepreneurial spirits out there. You're never too young or too old to chase after your calling!
